KUNMING, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Firefighters in southwest China's Yunnan Province extinguished a forest fire on Saturday hours after it started, according to the local fire department.
The fire broke out at around 12:39 p.m. near a mountain in Dali City. A total of 579 firefighters and other emergency response personnel were sent to battle the fire.
The fire was put out at around 6:55 p.m. with no injuries or deaths reported. An initial investigation shows that the fire scorched an area of 4 hectares. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Enditem
