LONDON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- World number one Judd Trump lost 3-1 to Kyren Wilson in the final of 2020's second snooker Championship League on Friday.

Trump, 31, was one victory away from his second ranking title this season, after winning the group in the third stage with two wins and one loss earlier on Friday.

He beat Chinese players Zhao Xintong and Zhou Yuelong but lost to three-time world champion Mark Selby in his last group match. Selby could only finish last in the quartet as he was beaten by both Zhao and Zhou.

In Friday's final, Trump was outplayed by Wilson, allowing the world No. 6 to clinch the fourth ranking title of his career.

"It has been a good start to the season and it is nice to be involved in finals," Trump told the tournament's official website. "This tournament I haven't been at my best but I managed to scrape through and it took a brilliant performance to beat me. As long as I keep forcing the opponent to play their best, I am happy with that."

Earlier this month, Trump edged Australia's Neil Robertson 9-8 to clinch the English Open title, his first title since March and the 18th in his career. Enditem
