JERUSALEM, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball champion Maccabi Tel Aviv has signed 30-year-old small forward James Nunnally, the club announced on Sunday.

The Israeli Euroleague side added that Nunnally's contract is for one year, with an option to extend it for another season.

Nunnally's career so far includes college basketball at UC Santa Barbara in 2012, five NBA teams, the Shanghai Sharks of the CBA and six European clubs.

His NBA record includes 37 games in total for the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans, where he played most recently.

Nunnally averaged 2.6 points in 8.5 minutes per game in the NBA.

In Europe he played for the Greek side Kavala, Spain's Estudiantes, Maccabi Ashdod of Israel, Italian clubs Sidigas Avellino and Olimpia Milano, and Turkey's Fenerbahce, with whom he won the 2017 Euroleague title and finished as Euroleague runner-up the following season.

He also helped Fenerbahce win the Turkish Super League titles in both his seasons at the club.

Nunnally joined the Shanghai Sharks in 2019, where he averaged 22.3 points and 3.3 assists in 32.5 minutes per game in a total of 12 games.

"James has the quality and the experience to help us reach our goals. He is a very important addition to our team," said Maccabi coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos.

Nunnally said: "I'm extremely excited to be headed back to Israel, especially to an organization with a tradition like Maccabi Tel Aviv". Enditem
