BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese women's football star Wang Shuang looks forward to a less frantic season next year where she could keep fit after completing an exhausting one.
The 26-year-old striker scored a brace in Wuhan Women's football club's 2-1 win over Jiangsu side on Tuesday to retain their title of the Chinese Women's Football Super League.
Wang said she needs a break after having to deal with demanding national and club commitments throughout this season.
"I am worn out as I had to play for the national team, the National Games side and the club," she said.
Wang said she was extremely tired entering the National Games in September following a disappointing campaign at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
She said she felt drained after returning to her club to play at the China's top women's football league.
"When I went back to our club after the National Games, I'm unable to find extra passion and desire to play," she said.
She will have few days to rest as the Chinese side will convene again ahead of the Asian Cup tournament, scheduled to take place between January 20 to February 6, 2022.
"I hope I can avoid injury and maintain a consistent form to play all the games in the new season," she said. Enditem
