SEOUL, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's industrial output rebounded last month owing to an export recovery, data from the statistical office showed Friday.
The seasonally adjusted production in all industries, which exclude the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector, grew 2.3 percent in September from a month earlier, according to Statistics Korea.
It was the turnaround from the 0.8-percent reduction in August, driven by the recovery of export that increased 7.7 percent in September from a year earlier.
The outbound shipment marked the first rebound in seven months, posting the fastest growth in 23 months since October 2018.
Production in the mining and manufacturing sector climbed 5.4 percent in September from a month earlier, while output among services companies added 0.3 percent.
Retail sale, which reflects private consumption, went up 1.7 percent in the month, keeping an upward trend for the second consecutive month.
Facility investment advanced 7.4 percent last month on a monthly basis, marking the highest increase in six months. Enditem
