TEHRAN, July 8 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were injured in the derailment of a freight train on the Semnan-Tehran route in northern Iran on Thursday, Iran's Young Reporters Club news agency reported.
In the accident, the driver of the freight train, which was moving at a speed of more than 160 km per hour from Semnan city towards the capital Tehran, could not control the speed of the train due to the failure of braking systems, according to the report.
Mozaffar Mohammadkhani, director of the Red Crescent Society of Semnan province, said this train derailed and stopped on the Aradan-Sorkheh route before reaching Garmsar city. Enditem
