KIGALI, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- The 24th edition of Rwanda International Trade Fair will officially kick off on Dec. 9 at the Gikondo Expo Grounds in the capital Kigali, the Private Sector Federation (PSF) announced Thursday.

In a statement, PSF said more than 400 local and international exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions are expected to participate in this year's international event that is set to last for three weeks.

"This year's trade fair will give business operators the opportunity not just for making sales, but also for exhibiting new products which might not have had exposure due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic," the statement said.

Products and services from different sectors like telecommunications, construction and housing, agricultural products and equipment, electronic equipment, and petroleum products are expected to grace the event.

Noting that the event will be held in respect of all COVID-19 related measures, PSF said more than 10 countries have so far confirmed their participation with more expected to participate.

The federation has stepped up its efforts to promote the event beyond Rwanda's borders and encourage foreign companies to showcase their products and consider investing in the country. Enditem
