LONDON, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- British Queen Elizabeth II has been advised by doctors to rest for two more weeks, Buckingham Palace said Friday.

The palace said following their recent advice that the Queen should rest for a few days, the doctors have advised that she should continue to rest for at least the next two weeks.

The doctors have advised that the 95-year-old monarch could continue to undertake light, desk-based duties during this time, including some virtual audiences, "but not to undertake any official visits".

It means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Nov. 13, but officials said it is her "firm intention" to attend the National Service of Remembrance on Nov. 14, according to the BBC.

It came after the Queen decided on Tuesday that she will not travel to Glasgow to attend the evening reception of the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Conference. Instead she will deliver a video message to the delegates.

The Queen spent a night in hospital for "some preliminary investigations" last Wednesday, after she cancelled a visit to Northern Ireland. Enditem
