Two lorry drivers killed in head-on collision in Tanzania
DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Two lorry drivers were killed on the spot on Thursday when their lorries collided head-on in Tanzania's eastern region of Morogoro, about 200 kilometers west of the commercial capital Dar es Salaam, according to local police.
Fortunatus Musilimu, the Morogoro regional police commander, said the lorries collided on Thursday at 4 a.m. local time at Mkambarani village along the Dar es Salaam-Morogoro highway.
Musilimu told a press conference that one of the lorries was ferrying cement from the commercial capital Dar es Salaam to Morogoro and the other empty lorry was driving the opposite direction.
"After the collision of the two lorries, the highway was blocked for four hours," said the police official.
He said police are investigating the accident to establish the cause of the collision. Enditem
